About the Artist :

A Unique Collection of
                 ONE-OF-A-KIND ELEGANT DESIGNS COMBINING FORM, COLOR & TEXTURE
Andrea's interest in distinct color combinations and fascinating textural contrasts has been fueled by her wide knowledge of room setting creations and her special love of pattern.

From the artist, "I love color; I create harmonious and poetic combinations of different hues from the materials I gather from around the globe. My preference is for bold, dynamic designs that 'make an outfit' and showcase a confident, elegant woman. No two bracelets are alike and I never know how a piece will end up; I just let the silver move my mind and my hands. Color and form are my passion and the overwhelming reason for my choices in designing my jewelry.  Because rhythm and pattern are also important to me, I never have the same bracelets following each other. I look for a different syncopation. Texture matters as well, so I often contrast smooth with faceted surfaces allowing for the play of light and shadow.
I love designing a piece from start to finish. Each piece is extremely labor intensive but it is such joy to see what my hands can create. Jewelry is the epitome of creativity and this is how I have chosen to express my artistic talents.”

The decision to sell her one-of-a-kind jewelry has been a rewarding experience. “To see a client's face and hear their comments when trying on a piece of my jewelry, make all the time and hard work worthwhile.”

HOW DOES ANDREA CREATE HER JEWELRY?

Semi-precious Stones, .999 Fine Silver and .925 Sterling Silver are the building materials in Andrea’s beautifully handcrafted bracelets, earrings and pendants. Her unique, elegant designs make a dramatic statement combining form with color and texture.
The type of jewelry design that she is currently using is FOLD FORMING.
This process begins with the silver being annealed or heated, folded, hammered and then opened. This is repeated until she gets the look she wants from the number of folds.

After the silver is folded, each piece is chased with stamping tools of different designs;
 many different stamps are used on one bracelet.

Following this step, the edges are either crimped, curled or folded over and hammered
yet again.

At this point, an oxidization chemical is put on the silver and the bracelet is put around a bracelet mandrel.  A final hammering makes the form into the desired shape, oval or round.

Finally the piece is tumbled and a uniquely personal piece of jewelry is born .acelet
